WHAT DO I GET FROM THE SERVICE?

Our objective is to provide you with the essential tools and knowledge to create your perfect space. This information intensive consultation is personalised design service in the form of a one-to-one masterclass. We will research you and your space and apply the Kingston Lafferty Design magic empowering you to personally design 1-2 rooms in your home. From the service, you will get expert advice, a range of useful documents and a report on each of your two identified rooms with proposed design solutions.

HOW DOES THIS DIFFER FROM THE FULL KLD SERVICE?

Kingston Lafferty Design is a full, professional interior design and interior architecture service that works with clients wishing to carry out a full design and project management service. As part of our mission statement we want to make design a valued and respected part of any space – home or business. However, we understand that the full-scale services of a professional design house are often not necessary for a lot of people. We wanted to offer a condensed version of our service in an inspiring and highly practical format. And so CREATE by kld was born.


WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE PHONE CALL

Once you have booked your CREATE by kld experience, our designer follow up with a 15 minute introductory phone call to find out more about your interiors project. This phone call is an opportunity for yourself and the designer to break the ice ahead of the actual visit or skype call. Here, your overall budget for the interior design work will also be noted so the Designer can provide budget appropriate solutions. The call should last no more than 15 minutes.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE IN-HOME CONSULTATION

On the day of the consultation the designer will immediately set about helping you to focus on the vision for each space. Your designer will advise on furniture styles, layout, materials and décor.

As part of the design process the CREATE by kld designer will create sketches to help bring the design vision to life. A photograph of the selected samples with their written specification will be included as part of the final CREATE by kld design pack. If you have opted for a CAD Joinery Drawing, the designer will survey and measure the relevant space.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE SKYPE/ONLINE CONSULTATION

This will take place over a Skype call and will be similar to the in-house consultation in that your designer will advise on furniture styles, layout, materials and décor. With this online service you will receive, as an extra, a detailed layout drawing to allow you to better visualise the design. The skype consultation will take approximately 1 hour for one room and 1.5 hours for two rooms .

WHAT IS IN THE CREATE by kld Design Pack

Within two weeks of the appointment, KLD will complete the CREATE by kld experience with the arrival at your home of CREATE by kld Design Pack in a beautifully branded box that includes:

  • Finalised sketch per room

  • 1 x colour photograph of your selected samples from the session per room

  • 1 x mood board Created post-session per room

  • 1 x furniture board with detailed notes per room

  • Suppliers’ List with a named contact, email, telephone, address for all the material samples and décor items chosen.  (All Suppliers are from KLD’s approved list.)

  • CAD Joinery Drawing/s (available as part of an enhanced CREATE package)

  • Interior Design Principles A5 Booklet



WHAT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS AFTER THE CONSULTATION?

You are welcome to email your designer with questions. Your designer will follow up once following the consultation with any items left outstanding. However, please note that following this, any additional help will be subject to an additional charge of €120/hr.

DO YOU TAKE INSPIRATIONAL IMAGERY AND TRY TO RECREATE THE LOOK?

While we use inspirational imagery from our own designs and those of designers we admire, we do not use them as a step by step guide. Inspirational imagery is used to give you an overall impression for your end design or sometimes even for one particular feature which we think will work well in the space. While we emphasise the value of inspirational imagery, we encourage all our clients to think outside the box and we do our best to equip you with the tools to do that and be brave with your designs.

CAN OTHERS ATTEND THE CONSULTATION?

To ensure you get the most from your consultation we would advise that no more than two people attend the consultation. We also kindly request that you have a quiet seating area for the consultation to take place in.

CAN I DO MORE THEN TWO ROOMS?

As the consultation takes place for a duration of no more than three hours, it is not possible to cover more than two rooms within this time frame. You can book the experience more than once if you wish to cover additional rooms after your initial experience. However, we do hope that what you will take from the initial consultation will be learnings and ideas that you can easily apply to other areas within your home.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE FURNITURE RECOMMENDATIONS THAT MY DESIGNER PRESENTS DURING THE CONSULTATION?

While we will always strive to recommend furniture suited to your taste and budget, it may happen that you don’t feel the product(s) are suitable. Our recommendations are a guide – which will allow you to you are free to source something similar from another supplier or to simply use our recommendations as a reference. The materials you receive with the create by KLD experience will include a list of recommended suppliers, so you will have lots of options to source alternative pieces should you wish.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE CONSULTATION?

Once you have had your one-on-one consultation your design consultant will collate all the information, including information on colours, textiles, swatches, tiles etc. that will make up the design of your space. All this information along with technical drawings, sketches, moodboards, journal, and suppliers’ list will be sent to you approximately two weeks after the consultation. This box will contain all the tools for you to transforms your space(s).

CAN I PAY IN INSTALMENTS?

At the moment the full price needs to be paid when booking.

WHAT IF I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE SUGGESTED SUPPLIERS?

KLD does not take responsibility or liability for any issues arising with suggested suppliers. You can proceed with and grievances through normal channels.

CAN I CHANGE MY BOOKING?

You can change your booking by clicking your confirmation email and following the instructions to reschedule your appointment.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE MY DESIGN ONCE IT IS COMPLETED?

Before you start production on your design you will have detailed sketches and mood boards which you will have signed off on. Your end-product should not veer too far from theses illustrative aids, which remember, will be your own design.

CAN I SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH MY NEIGHBOUR OR FRIEND?

No, the information and aids you receive is personal to your rooms and you. Also, we ask that you do not share our either with other people or online. It is CREATE by kld intellectual property and subject to copyright laws.


WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I SHARED THE SUPPLIERS LIST ONLINE?

If you shared any of the information or aids online, CREATE by kld would be forced to take legal action, which could result in a large fine for which you would be liable.
